I can help you by offering you a space to pause so that you can talk through whatever is on your mind. I will listen to you with care and attention without judging, criticising or telling you what you should do. I will do my utmost so that you feel truly seen, heard and understood and feel empowered to find a way forward and make the changes you wish for.

My counselling experience includes but is not limited to:
Anxiety & Stress
Depression
Loss & Bereavement
Relationship difficulties
Self injury
Work related issues
Post-natal depression
Abusive relationships
Anger issues
My Approach
I work psychodynamically – this involves exploring the origins of your thoughts and feelings and making connections with ways in which your past experience and relationships may be connected to your current difficulties. Understanding this can help you to approach life differently, enabling the possibility for you to have choices and make the changes you wish for.
You are always in control of what we talk about. I will work at your pace and you will never be pressured to talk about anything you are not comfortable with.
Sometimes it’s difficult to find the right words. For these occasions, there can be times when it may be helpful to adapt my approach and offer alternative ways to express yourself…
Therapy while walking
Uses the calming effect of being outside in the natural environment of Hitchin’s stunning countryside, for clients to feel comfortable while moving forward physically as well as mentally. Can really benefit those who are struggling to be in confined spaces
Mindfulness techniques
helps to calm the body, focus the mind and improve sense of well-being.
Using art to express yourself
integrating the creative process with therapy can help to access parts of the mind that are difficult to access or you are less aware of.
